A year after the release of the Coen Brothers' acclaimed film, Fargo, the series based on the movie is making its way onto the Prime Video platform. Several high profile international and domestic co-productions are joining the lineup as well. Besides Fargo, several popular movies will also hit the service this spring. Here are some of the titles you can expect to see on Prime Video in April and May of 2022.
Fargo, inspired by the 1996 film, follows a witty and pregnant police chief named Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand), who stumbles upon a strange case in a sleepy Midwestern town. This slow-burn thriller with dark humor is full of memorable characters.
The first season of Fargo aired on FX on April 15th 2014. It was picked up for preservation in the US National Film Registry and received seven Oscar nominations. One of its most notable awards is Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
In addition to the popular movie Fargo, Amazon is bringing two other Tony Scott films to its Prime Video platform this month. Both are expected to receive positive reviews from critics.
During the first half of the year, Amazon Prime Video released more than a dozen original series including The Boys, The Wilds, and a few naughty and nice romps for the ladies. Now that the festive season is winding down, Prime has announced its prime time list of must see movies. This includes the big daddy of them all, The Rings of Power. Also in May is the sleeper hit The Wilds. While the show has garnered some controversy, the show is a surprisingly good time.
Of course, there is more to Amazon Prime Video's 2022 slate than the big guns. For instance, it is slated to release a new sexy hunk on the block starring a sexy hunk who can also sing and dance. It will also roll out a line up of family fare, including the Hotel for the Holidays and The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith. But the real prize is the company's forthcoming series. One of these, the aforementioned The Rings of Power, will be the biggest and most expensive series to date.
The Blackfish film has elicited an estimated 3.1 million viewers thus far. Although the movie is no longer on Apple TV+, it's available to stream for $4.99 a month on the streaming service. Fortunately, the movie isn't the only sizzling hot ticket in town.
A quick search of Amazon Prime Video for a streaming fix yields more than a dozen options. Check out the streaming options below. You can also check out the Amazon Music app for even more tunes. Alternatively, you can opt to subscribe to Amazon Music Unlimited for $8.99 a month. While this isn't as cheap as it sounds, it does offer unlimited streaming to your device of choice. The Hollywood Reporter claims the Blackfish may be best known for its removal from most of its competitors, but its absence doesn't appear to be a full-fledged blackout. On the flip side, Amazon is currently offering a discounted subscription to Prime Video if you sign up for the service before March 31, 2019. Lastly, you can watch the movie in its entirety or you can watch the trailer before or after the movie.
The popular sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is coming back on streaming platform Hotstar. Fans are looking forward to a third season. However, the producers have not given a release date yet.
The show follows the upper-class Gujarati family of Sarabhai in South Mumbai. This family includes the female head Maya, her husband Indravadhan, and their three children, including prankster Sahil and unmarried Rosesh.
The show is a comedy that revolves around the lives of members of the Sarabhai family. It focuses on the everyday events that the characters experience in their lives. Aside from the main storyline, there are a number of social satires.
The sitcom was helmed by Deven Bhojani. During its first season, the show received a positive response from the audience. Eventually, it earned a cult status. Various reruns of the series were also released and were viewed by thousands of people.
In its second season, the show gained an average response from the audience. However, the ensemble cast received a special place in the audience's hearts.
After Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was cancelled, it received a resurgence of popularity. Several episodes were aired in reruns, and a couple of years later, it was revived as a web series.
There's no denying that A League of Their Own, Prime Video's adaptation of the 1992 movie of the same name, is a winner. The show follows the fortunes of a group of women in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in the early 1940s. And although the storyline veers a bit off course, it's still a blast to watch. It's also a good reminder that it's never too late to get involved in baseball.
Of course, this isn't the only version of the game to be played. But it is the one that will most likely be on the short list of your favorite prime time TV series. While it doesn't have the budget or talent of the original, the ten episodes that will make up its season will no doubt satisfy the most casual baseball fan.
While the A League of Their Own may not have the sexiest main character, it's got the most compelling supporting cast. In addition to the usual suspects, we're introduced to a black woman with a penchant for baseball and a slick brash manager.
